I bind unto myself today
the power of God to hold and lead,
his eye to watch, his might to stay,
his ear to hearken, to my need;
the wisdom of my God to teach,
his hand to guide his shield to ward;
the word of God to give me speech,
his heavenly host to be my guard.
Oggi a me stesso danno sicurezza
la forza di Dio che sostiene e guida
il suo occhio che guarda , la sua presenza che resta sempre ,
il suo orecchio che dà ascolto alle mie richieste ;
la saggezza del mio Dio che mi orienta ,
la sua mano che come suo scudo mi guida e mi tutela ;
la parola di Dio che dà voce alla mia bocca ,
la sua santa accoglienza che lo rende mia sentinella
